# Route Approval

> A Tailscale Subnet Router's routes reach devices only after the tailnet approves them.

`provisioned` means the router is enrolled and advertising. A device routes a subnet through the router only after an admin approves the route.

`PrimaryRoutes` lists the subnets a machine serves to the device. A device behind the router reads it for the router's machine:

Before an admin approved the route, the router served nothing:

```

After approval, it serves `172.27.0.0/24`:
